Summer Camps in Vacation Destinations: Asheville & Charleston

Heading to Charleston or Asheville this summer? Check out some day camp options for the kids.beachmom1cr.jpg

You want to tour the Biltmore House or Fort Sumter. The kids have no interest in the finer points of southern history. Instead of listening to them whine are we done yet?, why not send them to a half day camp? They can experience local culture and nature in a fun way.

Half day camps allow you to still maintain the ‘family’ in family vacation, but give you the opportunity to go off on your own excursion. Or simply enjoy a peaceful morning on the beach while the kids are learning how to surf.

Charleston Surf Lessons offers camps as well as lesson packages. Transportation is available from Charleston, West Ashley, Mt Pleasant, and Daniel Island areas.

Another great option is Isla Surf School.

With Famous Adventures your kids can experience kayaking, surfing, local parks, ropes courses and more. These outdoor adventure camps run until 3pm, but daily rates are available for some weeks. Check out the camp spotlight article for further info.
